I recently put up a bunch of shirts I got way back in the day on eBay, and it got me remembering, as we elder millennials do. My friends and I used to pre-order almost every game and go to all the midnight launch events to get free items, food, or just to party. The thrill of getting those free items, the joy of adding them to our collections, it’s a feeling I miss. I’m sure at one point, I only wore shirts I got for free, and I was a walking billboard. We still have walking billboards today, people streaming all day, eventually trying to sell you something. I miss the spectacle of getting exclusive goods at midnight events and people knowing what’s up. I would like to see if it still exists in a community I am not aware of.
